The Bills Observer: Week 5

Post by Sliq_Hazard on Fri Mar 04, 2016 10:14 pm

Annihilation In Tennessee
The 4-0 Bills travelled to Tennessee to take on a struggling Titans outfit, here's what Miller had to say about the match-up, " Whilst the Titans are struggling at the moment, no team can be taken lightly and we will continue to prepare for each game the same way week in and week out".

We later asked Miller how the loss of their starting middle linebacker will impact them. Here's what he had to say, " It's a shame we have lost Zaviar to a hamstring tear, he will be out for a few weeks and that will provide an opportunity for some other players to make a mark on this team... for that aspect alone im kind of looking forward to what some of these other guys on the roster can do. We definitely have enough talent to overcome this but we will welcome his return".

With that been said lets get stuck into the match review!

The Titans started the game with the ball and looked comfortable against a Bills unit that has stamped its authority on all opposing teams thus far...but a few wild throws from Mariota seized the drive and they had to punt the ball away. The Bills looked ready to go with Tyrod at the helm and they got off to a quick start hitting Dezmin Lewis for a first down but the drive would later end as a miscue between Taylor and Watkins would lead to a pick.

The Titans seemed up to the occasion defensively but it would lay on the shoulders of rookie quarterback Marcus Mariota to get the offensive unit going, the titans decided to run the ball for the first few plays however were stuffed in the backfield for minimal yardage which lead to a Mariota pick.

The Bills got the ball and established their dominance with a quick drive down the field resulting in a touchdown to tightend Charles Clay.

This is when things took a turn for the worse for the Titans. As drive after drive the Bills defense would rise to the occasion and make plays after plays to hand the ball back to their offense.

The Bills annihilated the Titans in Tennessee, winning this ball game with a final score of 41-3.

Heres a look at the Bills player stats.

Passing:

Tyrod threw a pick early on in the game and quickly turned things around. Displaying yet again another dominant performance. Tyrod lead his team to victory with a QB rating of 140.3 as a result of his 22 completions from 27 attempts for 365 yards and three touchdowns.

Rushing:

LeSean McCoy started off slow but as the game went on he established himself upon the game, McCoy finished the day with 15 carries for 104 yards and a score

Receiving:

The Bills receivers decided to make an impact in this game and it showed with a dominant performance from tightend Charles Clay who hauled in 4 receptions for 107 yards and a score, LeSean McCoy also got involved in the passing attack with 4 useful receptions for 41 yards. Marquise Goodwin and Sammy Watkins both scored a touchdown.

Defense:

Yet again the defense performed at an elite level. Veteran safety Jeromy Miles lead the way again, leading the team with 6 tackles,  closely behind was linebacker Manny Lawson who recorded 5 tackles. Both Manny Lawson and Nigel Bradham shutdown the Titans rushing attack as they both recorded 2 tackles for a loss. Jerry Hughes was constantly in Mariota's face as he recorded 3 sacks on the day whichin turn helped lead the Bills to 3 interceptions (Will Smith, Stephon Gilmore and Jason McCourty) and a forced fumble which was recovered by Manny Lawson for a touchdown.

Join us next week as the 5-0 Bills take on the 4-1 Bengals.
